I don't want to rehash all the generic tips you've probably read about working from home, but rather I wanted to start a discussion of tips for processing your data when you are remote from your supervisor (in the case of students etc) and from your lab.
If you can think of features you think would make it easier to work remotely, please feel free to suggest them in this discussion.
I'll start the discussion off with this tip: I would suggest is to taking copious notes, and screenshots where needed. You can do this while processing your data in iolite using the Notes Panel (go to the Window menu -> Notes). This will pop out a little Notes panel that you can write into. Here you can explain what settings you used, why you included (or excluded) certain data, and even remind yourself about things you might want to check up on later.
You can also drag graphs etc from iolite's main window into the Notes Panel to create screenshots. For example, if you are looking at a particular sample in the Time Series View, and you've plotted up several channels to show what's happening during the ablation, you can drag this into the Notes Panel by holding down the Alt key and dragging the main graph into the Notes Panel. You can then add notes as to what you think is happening for this sample with the screenshot showing your reasoning. This works with Results View plots too.
I'm sure others will have suggestions too, so please feel free to add them here!
Cheers,
Bence
