issues with Thermo Element csv import

Hi all - I'm having a bit of trouble importing some csv files that originated as Thermo Element .dat files, and then were processed through Jon Hartman's .dat-file decoder.

The importer we are using is straightforward and has worked for us in the past without issue, but now we are encountering a situation where some csv files import properly with all isotope waves, whereas other show some data for some elements (204, 206, 207, 238) but not others (208, 232, 235), the latter of which show a flat line with no data (even when data were clearly collected).

This occurs in the most recent version of Iolite.

Hi Josh,

I've just tried loading the files you sent with the import module you also sent (thanks for sharing those, it makes it much easier to determine what's going on with example files). However, in this case, I was able to load all the channels correctly for both files (including 208, 232, and 235). I was using the importer you sent (I just changed the name of the importer in the metadata at the top to make sure I could see it in the Plugins Manager, but no material changes) and the latest release of iolite too.

I'm not sure what to suggest. Are there some other files that you could send that don't work? Are you sure you're using the importer you sent? That is, if you change the following lines in the importer, can you see the corresponding messages in iolite's Message View (with Debug messages turned on)?

Change Line 29 to:
IoLog.debug("correct_format for Thermo dat importer called on file = %s"%(importer.fileName))

Change Line 47 to:
IoLog.debug("import_data in Thermo dat importer called on file = %s"%(importer.fileName))

Hi Bence - thanks for the quick response. It turned out to be an easy fix; I just had to make sure that all the values in the input files were saved as numbers in the .csv files. Still, thank you for your help!
