I think the most likely explanation is that the iolite_helpers.py file is missing. There is a good chance you can fix it by holding down shift while iolite starts. This will ask you if you want to reset all preferences, to which you should say yes. You'll then run through the first run dialog again. I think you may need to close iolite and restart it one more time to have the file detected at start up.
