iCAP importer error

Hi everyone,

I have a problem importing data from iCAP to iolite.

The error message is as follows:

Could not load the file "My file path" due to an impossible or invalid time stamp "04 17 2024 06 44 06" using the date/time format MM dd yyyy hh mm ss. Please check the data import locale in preferences or contact iolite support.
/

I tried changing the time stamp, but it didn't work either. Currently, I can import the file by changing all the headers to the Agilent format, but I would appreciate it if the problem could be fixed.

Additionally, I have another similar issue. When using Trace Elements as DRS or U-Pb Geochronology, it is not necessary to change the element names to the Agilent format (e.g., 44Ca → Ca44). However, when using 3D trace elements as DRS, the element names need to be changed. I believe this issue might be related to the first problem, but if it's not, I would appreciate it if you could address this second problem as well.

Thanks for sending that example data file. The issue was that we had not seen an iCap file with Japanese characters in it. In particular, the AM/PM symbols (午前, 午後) were breaking the import process.

I have updated the iCap import module to be able to handle this, and this will be available in the next release of iolite (>v4.9.4).
