separate files in Iolite

Dear community, I need your help. I’m a new Iolite user and I have a question about the data-reduction process.In my case, I have separate .csv files from an analysis performed with an Agilent ICP-MS and an ESI laser. The laser and ICP-MS files belong to the same analytical run, but they are saved separately (I don’t have the single combined file that contains standards and samples together, as shown in some webinar examples).
My question is: How can I correctly perform data reduction in Iolite using these separate files? I’m not sure how to synchronise or merge them so that Iolite treats them as one run.
I would greatly appreciate any guidance, examples, or step-by-step instructions on how to import these files and carry out the analysis properly. Thank you very much for your help.

Hi @MauricioGuzman601

You can just import all the files at once using the "Import Folder" button (between the Import File and Import Log buttons). This will import all your mass spec files as if they were in a single folder.

I'm assuming you have a single log file for the session? If not, there is a laser log file combiner tool in the Tools menu that takes a folder of log files and combines them into a single file. Please let me know if you have any troubles.

Bence Dear Bence, Thank you very much for your response. I followed your instructions and everything worked very well. However, a couple of signals were not properly synchronized. How could I fix that issue? Once again, I truly appreciate your help.

When you say a few signals were not properly synchronised, do you mean synchronised with the laser log file? If so, have you tried using the Sample Sync option in the Sync window? When this is turned on, you can drag the start position manually for each sample. This helps if most of the files are correctly synced, but some are not.
