Split stream data selection issues

Hello! I'm having some problems with making selections on split stream data for our instruments. The instruments we're using are an iCAP and Element 2.

I'm able to import everything fine (element 2 is imported using a custom importer) and am able to make selections w/ the laser log on either of the two instrument time series data. However, when I try to make selections with both of the instruments imported, it will only 'properly' select the data from the main instrument. For example, in this session the 'main' instrument (first imported, synced other instrument to it) is the iCAP, and this selection of 91500 trace elements worked fine:

However, input channel selections from the secondary instrument (in this case the element 2, channel 238U) will be flat at zero and have a little exclamation point next to them:

I can't seem to find any stored information in the logs on what's going wrong here, and can't interact with the little warning label to figure out what the issue is. I also can reverse the issue and make the element data work by importing it first.

Any thoughts/help are sincerely appreciated!

sorry to resuscitate this thread, but I am having the same issue, also while reducing split stream data. In my case, the data are from a Nu Plasma III and an Agilent quad.

All selections work just fine on the input channels from the Plasma, for example 238U from the Plasma:

Most selections also work on the input channels from the quad, except towards the end of the experiment. These are the same selections shown above, except now for the Si28 channel from the quad.

Now, the second selection shows an exclamation mark.

I've tried debugging this a bit in the python console:

I make my own selections by manually specifying the start and end times (createSelections)
I then select the Si28 channel (si = data.timeSeries('Si28'))
I call si.timeForSelection() for the selections that I have manually created.

Selections that occur before some apparently arbitrary threshold will return the expected array of time stamps. Selections that occurs after the threshold return empty arrays. The threshold occurs in between the selections shown above.

Other notes:

I used the data syncer to synchronize the plasma and quad files before aligning them with the laser log file
The "main instrument" is set to be the plasma
This issue affects baselines and standards in addition to the unknowns.

This is a new bug that will be fixed in the next release. In the meantime, you can put this code into iolite's Python Workspace and running it:

for ch in data.timeSeriesList(data.Input):
    ch.timeChanged()

data.calculateTotalBeam()
