Data reduction of trace elements without using IS

Hello, Iolite Team.

Can Iolite deal with carbonates without using an internal standard?
We are analyzing a lot of carbonates. Most of them are calcite which is easy to process, but some of them has higher concentrations of Mg, Mn and/or Fe, which is tedious in that we have to do microprobe analysis to figure out the concentration of Ca in those minerals. In addition, it is not necessarily accurate because the laser spots are much bigger than microprobe beam size. Do you have any solution to deal with such data?

You can just leave the "Use Internal Standards" checkbox unchecked to avoid using Int Stds.

I appreciate your prompt response. To clarify, I am in search of a data reduction scheme akin to the "Normalise to Total" method for the purpose of reducing trace elements in carbonates with heterogeneous Ca contents. By employing this method, we aim to achieve precise results without the necessity of employing an Internal Standard (IS).
